25″ h x 8” w x 12″ d,
This piece can currently be seen at the Haen Gallery in Brevard, NC.
Dolmens are structures that consist of several upright stones and a horizontal capstone that define an interior space. Also known as portal tombs, these structures were a place of reverence, sometimes used as the final resting place for great chieftains.
This piece is an abstract interpretation of these hallowed structures. I have distorted the proportions to give the viewer a unique perspective of the interior space, hopefully allowing introspection on what is held sacred.
